Job Description
- Evaluate insurance applications, assess risks to determine appropriate coverage and premium rates for both property insurance and employees’ compensation insurance
- Make underwriting decisions based on established guidelines, risk assessment and explain policy terms to clients and stakeholders
- Provide customer service and address inquiries, resolve issues and explain policy terms to clients and stakeholders
- Collaborate with brokers and agents to gather necessary information, clarify policy terms and negotiate terms & conditions
- Make company’s reinsurance arrangement to ensure compliance while optimizing the utilization of reinsurances for insurance acceptances
- Maintain accurate underwriting records, documentations and reports for audits and compliance purposes
- Work with policy administration team to ensure accurate and efficient policy issuance and claims handling
- Observe industry trends, market conditions, and policy administration to ensure accurate and efficient policy issuance and claims handling
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree Holder in insurance discipline or related subjects
- With relevant professional qualification such as ANZIIF / ACII is preferred
- Experience as underwriter, preferably in property insurance and employees’ compensation insurance within Hong Kong insurance market
- Strong knowledge of insurance principles, underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks, interpret data and make underwriting decisions
- Communicate and negotiate with brokers, agents and clients effectively
- Work independently and can also work in a team environment;
- Proficient in computer literature
